Summer is coming to an end and those dark, VERY dark, nights are starting to draw ever closer. Every horror fan loves this time of year as its the official season for celebrating all things evil and it usually culminates in horror movie binges on Halloween night. I love to do this regardless of the time of year and horror will ALWAYS be my go-to genre. So, I figure, why wait any longer? Check out some of my own terrifying short-films that (hopefully) will keep you up at night...

Short and Sinister!

Stay out of the woods!

Even on a sunny day, you should NEVER go out into those woods! Photo is a tense little micro-short entry, made for last year's 15 second horror challenge. The idea was simple, what if a camera could see something you couldn't? and what if that something didn't like you seeing it?

Oh, I'm sorry, I hope you didn't have headphones on (cue evil laughter). Have a second helping of one of this year's entries. Phone is ready for your viewing pleasure...

Demon in a bottle

Everyone has a phone nowadays and anyone can call you at whatever time they feel like. The problem is you never know who, or WHAT, is on the other end of that line...

Another tense micro effort entered into 2016s 15 second horror challenge. Quite frankly there's nothing more challenging than creating a story-line in a quarter of a minute. Hopefully, It achieved it's goal of making YOU pause next time the phone rings.

Feeling Sleepy?

The Devil on your shoulder

In case your thinking of going to bed, my sleep addled short-film Tired might make you think again. Tired made it into the final 26 entries for the horror channel's "Shortcuts to Hell 2" Competition way back in 2014. What's it about you ask? well here's the plot:

A man records his sleep patterns with a new app, but when he plays it back he hears something that shouldn't be there...

This was only my second attempt at making a short-film on a DSLR (I finally realized I needed better tech) and I think it's a testament to the time frame we had to shoot and edit this in. If nothing else it conveys a sense of dread that we can all understand. That fear of being helpless, which we all are when we decide to close our eyes for the BIG sleep.

Audio-Terror!!

Here's a short piece that won the 2013 popcorn horror award for best "100 words or less" horror story. I enjoyed the challenge of creating such a short piece of work and I still can't believe I achieved first place. All the other entries were published in an eBook which is free on the official website here.

A nice nod to old horror stories by Edgar Allen Poe, to which I owe my inspiration for this short tale. I wonder? Have you ever felt a creepy knock knock knocking at your door in the dead of night? If so perhaps you should answer it...I mean it's rude to keep people waiting.
