'Stranger Things' Has Eggo-cellent Tribute To Barb In Retro News Video!

Barb unwittingly became the shining star of Stranger Things Season 1, and several #JusticeForBarb campaigns were launched, so could the video set up for the possible return of Barb?

Breaking news on 5 WIYZ Hawkins, Indiana, “Minute By Minute with Brenda Wood,” is the ultimate #StrangerThings Easter Egg(o). The Veteran 11Alive journalist channels some serious retro Vanessa Williams vibes as she returns to her role of '80s news anchor, reminding us of the tragic tale of Shannon Purser's Barb — *sob*.

While it looked like only Natalia Dyer's Nancy was concerned with the disappearance of bubbly Barb, it now seems that she is finally getting the justice she deserved. The rest of Hawkins have clocked on to the fact that the town is missing a rather large pair of spectacles, as Wood describes Barb as “loyal to a fault,” and “the kind of girl who notices if you’re wearing a new bra." Personally, I am not sure is a good or a bad thing. In short, no!

The demise of Barb was left rather bluntly after she was devoured by a demogorgon only a few episodes in, but co-creators Matt and Ross Duffer say we will revisit the character in Season 2. Don't get your hopes up though, we will not be resurrecting the knitted-sweater sweetheart:

"It's not like her parents are like, 'Oh Barb left. She died!' Season 1 actually takes place over the course of six or seven days -- it's a really short period of time. So part of what we want to do with hypothetical season 2 is to explore the repercussions of everything that happened."

Apart from Barb, it looks like a bit of a slow news day for the residents of Hawkins. Also making Wood's report, we see that Millie Bobby Brown's Eleven has been causing trouble as the thief of an "unprecedented" amount of Eggo Waffles from Bradley’s Big Buy. Fresh off being imitated by the who's who of Hollywood for Halloween, we see security footage of a “vagrant juvenile" stocking up her #Eggo supply for winter. Anyone with any news is urged to contact Chief Jim Hopper, Eggo or otherwise.
