Spoilers For The End Of The Film Below!

Creaking of the doors and the squeaking of the swings. 'The Conjuring 2' is a must see 2016 film. The thrilling film topped the box office charts on it's opening weekend. But to those of you that want to go and see it and are planning to go and see it, there's one character to keep your eye on at all times. The Crooked Man! But we all know the famous Poltergeist will always be the centre of the big summer horror film but think again.

The film director, James Wan had based the film on the real-life haunting of a British family, the Hodgsons. The Hodgsons had claimed to be sharing their little home with a terrifying Poltergeist. The Poltergeist in the film causes all kinds of trouble by turning a load of crucifixes upside down. But it's most scary activity was bringing a well known English nursery rhyme to life in a horrifying way! But despite the Crooked Man coming to life, it has set up the franchise for a third film or a spin off film.

There was a crooked man, and he walked a crooked mile.He bought a crooked cat, which caught a crooked mouse,And they all lived together in a little crooked house.

The above nursery rhyme was repeated several times throughout the film by the youngest Hodgson called Billy. Billy has a toy Zoetrope. When you spin it round an illustrated version of the Crooked Man can be seen taking a gentle walk which never ends. But stop there. It seemed the Crooked Man decided to take a different route on his crooked walk when he suddenly disappeared from the Zoetrope. That soon wiped the innocent smile of Billy's face. The Crooked Man went from having no bones in the Zoetrope to having a load of bones and limbs when he possessed the neighbours dog, Baron. Not so much Billy's hero now. I must admit, the Crooked Man did slightly remind me of Jim Carey in 'The Mask'.

The Crooked Man suddenly vanished into thin air when the demon met it's match at the end of the film. Ed and Lorraine Warren find out the name of the demon (Valek) and use it's name to defeat the demon. Like a lot of ghost investigators, Ed and Lorraine took home a souvenir with them to remember the case. They took home Billy's Crooked Man Zoetrope. Of course Billy won't want it now. Probably doesn't want another one either. Ed puts the Zoetrope on the shelf directly in front of the most famous souvenir in his entire collection. The terrifying, grinning, psycho doll Annabelle! Annabelle had a cameo in the first Conjuring which then lead to her own film back in 2014. Despite the film critics hating Annabelle's film, it had earned nearly $86 million all thanks to the Conjuring connection.

But I don't think Ed placed the Zoetrope randomly on the shelf. The Crooked Man has been placed deliberately on the shelf directly opposite Annabelle in a way to expand on the Conjuring franchise. Does this mean the Crooked Man will make an appearance in the Annabelle sequel in 2017? Or will he star in his very own spin off film? The Crooked Man is rumoured to be starring in a Conjuring spin-off film starring the creepy and hilarious nun from Conjuring 2. The nun was the main demon in the Conjuring 2 and was seen numerous times by Lorraine. Despite the nun getting banished by Lorraine, she's confirmed to making another appearance in the coming years as part of the Conjuring franchise. So is this a third Conjuring film confirmed? Or is it directly a spin off film with two of the most scariest characters from the film? All to be revealed.

All that's left to say is, make sure you watch the action packed and unstoppable film with someone else. Mainly because you can laugh at their reactions as they can't cope with horror films.
