In the meantime, what is a creepypasta? Creepypastas are essentially internet horror stories, passed around on forums and other sites with the intent to disturb and frighten readers. The name "Creepypasta" comes from the word "copypasta," an internet slang term for a block of text that gets copied and pasted over and over again from website to website. Creepypastas are sometimes supplemented with pictures, audio, and/or video footage related to the story. The subject matter is typically filled with gory, distorted, or otherwise shocking content.

While creepypasta today varies greatly in length and quality, older ones tend to be very short, and follow one of the following sets of formulas:

  • Anecdotes: The narrator remarks on a scary legend, news story, or even an event from their own past.
  • Rituals: Rituals tend to be a list of instructions for the reader, claiming that if they go to a certain place at a certain time, and perform specific actions, something remarkable, and/or horrifying will happen.
  • Other genres can include close to home topics such as true stories to give the audience a relatable experience in which some have lived or have known someone to go through said encounters. Another flip sided aspect of this, is the promotion for self awareness. Allowing the audience to live vicariously through either the bittersweet truths, or the close encounters of those narrowly escaping their potentially compromising predicaments. As well as living to tell their cautionary experiences in order to warn others not to fall in the same or similar situation or fate.

A notable creepy pasta: Candle Cove

Candle Cove is a creepypasta, which is told in the form of a forum thread in which members discuss a disturbing children's show called, "Candle Cove," which supposedly aired sometime in the 70s. At the end of the thread, one of the members reveals something with the implication that the show was not real, but rather some kind of mass hallucination.

Creepypasta Narration and Narrators.

This is essentially where someone such as myself comes in regarding this dark niche. As stated previously, Creepypastas are sometimes supplemented with pictures, audio, and/or video footage related to the story. It’s a talent to bring stories to life, and make them atmospheric to the viewers, and personally I very much enjoy doing it.

Again, the subject matter is typically filled with gory, distorted, or otherwise shocking content. So if you are a fan of horror movies, thrillers, and scary films, but can not be caught watching them at work, or are constantly on the go, then these stories are for you. Anywhere between fantasy and insanity, it's all here. So stick around, like surgical tools accidentally left inside a patient post malpractice.

THE GAME

Here's to you, kid.

Happy Birthday. You've managed to stay alive, all this time, despite our

best efforts. You've played the game pretty damn well, all these years.

What's that? Didn't know you were playing?

You've been playing since the day you were born. Every accident you

narrowly avoided your entire life, from crib gates left open, to forgotten

parking brakes, even lightning storms and slips

on patches of ice.

Every injury waiting to happen, every sudden fatality, was our doing. Many

have already lost by the time they get to your age; you should consider

yourself lucky! Luck being your skill at playing the game.

What's that? How do you win?

Oh, see, you don't, I'm afraid. We get everyone, in the end. It's all a matter

of time... and luck.

Happy Hunting.
