My mom called from the outside of my bedroom door. A low groan can be heard. Tired and lazy. Then I realized that it was mine. I sat up and rubbed my eyes.

"Rebecca! Hurry up or you'll miss the bus!" I looked at the clock: 7 AM. Oh shoot! I'm going to be late! I got out of my bed and dashed to my bathroom. I looked at myself in the mirror. My eyes are dark sea blue with light bloodshot eyes, and let's also add dark rings around them.

I sighed and stripped down my black silk pajamas. I turned and got in the shower. As I felt the warm feeling of the water go down my body I started to get lost in thought. What will my friends think of me now? I felt a hand on my lower back part. I looked around and saw nothing. "Hello?" I called out. I stayed silent.

Once I got out of the shower, I wrapped my self in the towel and I walked to my bedroom. I looked at the clock: 7:15 AM. I got time. I walked to my closet and pulled out my black pair of skinny jeans, a Black Veil Brides shirt, a pair of white and black elbow high gloves, and my black jacket. As soon as I got dressed I walked downstairs and grabbed my bag.

"Bye, Mom! I'm going to school!" I yelled from the doorway.

"Have a great day at school!" My mom yelled from the kitchen. I walked out the door and waited for the bus at the end of my driveway. I stared out at the field. So calm. So quiet. I snapped out of my thoughts as soon as the bus showed up.

The door swung open wide. I walked up the steps and started to walk to the back of the bus. Some girls snickered as I walked passed them. I ignored it and sat down. I leaned against the window and I stared out into space again. I saw something shadowy in between the trees. I squinted my eyes to get a clearer view. I couldn't see the face. As I continue staring at the figure I felt a hand on my shoulder. I jumped.

"Woah, Rebecca. Calm down." I turned back and saw my friend, Simon. "Jumpy much?"

"S-sorry... I'm a little..." I tried to think of a word to describe it.

"Out into space? I could tell." He sighed and sat by me.

"I thought I saw something in the woods."

"Probably a deer. You'll see one every once in a while. By the way, what classes do you have?" He pulled his schedule out from his bag. I pulled mine out from my pocket and unfolded it. We compared our classes. We have all of them but fourth hour. His was PE and mine was Art. When we got to school, Simon grabbed his bag then stood up. He looked at me while I was staring out the window again. "Rebecca. Are you okay?" I looked back at him.

"Hm? Oh... Y-yeah I'm fine."

"Are you sure?"

"Yeah, I'm fine, Simon." I stood up and got off the bus. I looked at the school building. The first day of school at Scottland High. Wonderful.

"Let's go in." Simon said while getting off the bus. We walked inside.

During class, Simon raised his hand. "Mrs. Smith? May I go to the restroom?"

"Hurry, Mr. Bane." He stood up and left the room. "Alright. Everyone open their textbooks on chapter one page seven."

10 minutes go by. Simon hasn't returned yet. I started to feel a bit nervous. I rose my hand.

"Rebecca?" The teacher looked at me.

"M-may I go look for Simon?"

"Hurry up." I nodded and walked out. I took a deep breath and started walking down the hallway. My footsteps echoed. Simon where are you? I thought to myself. I heard a soft groan. I looked around and saw him. My eyes widened. I saw him. His eyes were pitch black. No whites around it or anything. His skin pale and his hair is longer. This is not Simon.

"Help... me..." He groaned. His voice is deep and scary. I started to back up slowly. I started to run. I can hear his heavy footsteps chase after me. I ran up the stairs to the roof and stood on the edge.

"Rebecca!" I turned around. I saw my teacher and Simon. He looked formal and his eyes are filled with terror. "Rebecca. It's going to be okay. Get down from there." My foot slid from the edge and I fell back. "NO!!!" Simon ran to the edge. He tried to catch me. He barley made it. The last thing I saw from his face was sadness mixed with anger. Then everything went black.

"No... not now..." I heard whispers. "It's not her time..."

"Rebecca... wake up. It's not your time. Wake. Up." My eyes opened slowly. My vision is blurry, but I felt a lot of pain. Bright lights shined in them. I blinked a few times then my vision started to become clear. I looked around. I'm in a hospital room. I looked over and saw Simon sleeping in the chair.

"Rebecca." I heard my mother's voice. "Oh thank God you're alive." I looked at her. Her eyes were puffy. She's been crying.

"What... happened?" I asked slowly. My voice is weak and soft.

"You... tried to commit suicide, hunny..." I went quiet. The color from my face went away.

I... tried to commit suicide. I would never do that! Or... would I?

A low groan can be heard. I looked over and saw Simon move a bit. He opened his eyes and looked at me. The doctor walked in.

"Mrs. Stine. A word please?" My mom nodded and walked out. I looked at Simon.

"Are you okay?" He scoffed at my question.

"Am I okay? Are YOU okay, Rebecca?" I nodded. He looked down. "Why....?"

"Huh?"

"Why did you try to kill yourself? They're talking about sending you to a mental home." I sat there. He sighed and stood up. He walked to me then held my hand out and placed something in it. "To remember me by. In case you do go to a mental home." I looked at my hand. A heart-shaped locket with a picture of me and him in it. Smiling, tears rolled down my cheeks as I read the words carved into it.

"In goodwill as friends but someday... you'll never know your best friend becomes your soulmate." I sniffled as he read it to me. He looked at me and placed his hand on my cheek. He wiped the tears away.

"I never knew you liked me..." He hugged me. "I'm gonna miss you, Simon." I felt his hug tighten a bit.

"I'll never forget you, Rebecca." He lifted my chin up with his thumb and forefinger and brushed his lips against mine. He kissed me. My heart started pounding and I kissed back.

"Ahem." He pulled away and looked at the door. My mother is standing there. "Time to go, Simon." He looked back at me.

"Bye..." He started to walk out. The doctor walked in and stuck a needle in my forearm. I started to feel sleepy. I looked at my mom. Tears go down her cheeks. Everything faded to black.
